Background Details of Marsha Koch

In March of 2010, while visiting a friend in Mesa, Arizona, I unfortunately broke my hand in two places while playing tennis. As I was recovering and exploring the area, I stumbled upon a group of people playing a sport I had never heard of or seen before – Pickleball. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try using my left hand since the paddle was short and the ball was lightweight.

It was love at first hit! Despite my injury, I thoroughly enjoyed playing Pickleball and knew I would enjoy it even more when I was able to use my right hand again. Upon returning home to toledo pickleball, Ohio, I decided to look for local Pickleball players and facilities to continue playing.

Thanks to the efforts of JoAnne and Mike Tressler, a small group of dedicated players was already working towards bringing Pickleball to Toledo. I joined the group and together, we were able to grow the Toledo Pickleball Club into a community of over 140 active players and six beautiful, dedicated courts.

Pickleball has quickly become a popular sport in Toledo, and it’s no surprise why. The game is easy to learn, provides a great workout, and is a lot of fun. It’s a great way to stay active, socialize with others, and challenge oneself.

Marsha’s Tips And Tricks

I don’t think there is a formula for success. The secret, in my opinion, is to pick a wonderful partner with whom you can collaborate easily and develop strategies. It’s crucial to frequently practise, refine your abilities through exercises, and spend time getting to know your rivals and their playing style.

Teamwork and communication are crucial in doubles. You can play as a team more successfully if you and your partner can closely coordinate your movements and foresee each other’s reactions. This entails collaborating on strategic choices rather than concentrating only on individual achievement.

Practise and skill improvement are also crucial if you want to succeed in doubles. Regular practise can help you become more accurate, controlled, and fast on the court, which will make it simpler for you to react swiftly to your opponent’s actions and set up powerful shots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your Pickleball goals?

A: Every time I step onto the court, my main goal is to play my best game and give my partner and opponents a challenging match. I’ve had the opportunity to travel and compete against some of the top women’s teams, which has been a fun and rewarding experience.

A: I’m not a superstitious person, but I do take a moment to say a prayer before each game to remind myself of the bigger picture and keep things in perspective.

A: I spent 12 years in the gift industry and 12 years in medical pharmaceutical and software sales. However, I recently started my own business in window treatments and also work part-time at my church.

Q: How many hours a week do you play and how do you make time for Pickleball?

A: I try to play as often as I can, ideally every day that ends in a “y.” However, I typically play 2-3 times a week in pick-up games with a group of guys.
